FAS Gesso Primer is a fast drying waterproof primer/sealer that is applied prior to painting. Use for both oils and acrylics.

Seals absorbent surfaces, prevents uneven appearance and excessive fast drying, resulting from paint penetration. In an undiluted form Gesso may be textured, but dilute with a little water if only sealing is required.

Recommended for surface preparation and sealing canvas, linen and board. Offers texture or 'tooth' to the painting surface.

USE FOR:

 

 Gesso Primer is recommended for surface preparation and sealing.  

Ideal for priming canvas panels and stretch canvas for both oil and acrylic paintings.

Use as a undercoat to intensify colours and the lasting durability of your work.  Can be tinted to suit your back ground colour. 
e.g. Pink for sunset or light blue for cool scene.

CHARACTERISTICS:

Waterproof, flexible, permanent, opaque and fast drying, allowing the artist to work quickly.  Both as a Sealer and Primer for most surfaces.  Sands well and is used in gold leaf work.

APPLICATION TIPS:

 Stir the bottle before use. Can be applied directly from the bottle/jar. Try to paint thinner rather than thicker.  A very light sand with a light grade sand paper between coats may offer better tooth and last ability

HEALTH & SAFETY - WASHING

 Wash up equipment with soap and water. As a precaution suitable protective clothing should be worn. Gesso is permanent when dry.
